Casual Library Assistant Positions - PDF

Leduc Public Library has openings for casual Library Assistant positions.

Ideal candidates should be available for shifts that take place during the day, evening and weekend. Shifts normally become available on a short term notice due to illness or other reasons. There are also a limited number of set weekend shifts that will be available.


Casual Library Assistants undertake a variety of support roles in the delivery of public services including providing excellent customer service. Candidates must be comfortable using computers and with trouble shooting technology although training will be provided on the use of our library software. They must ensure that the Library Director or Public Services Coordinator is advised of any important issues that may have arisen during the shift.

Candidates may be responsible for closing routines during evenings and both opening and closing routines on weekends. A criminal check will be required prior to hiring.

We will also require an availability form to be completed when applying. This form can be picked up at the library anytime during our open hours or please email us for an electronic copy.

NOTE:   Casuals will automatically be put on the rotation schedule to work a 12- 5 shift on Saturday and 12 - 4 on Sunday.
