Food for Fines

Between February 3 and February 9, we are running our first "Food for Fines" campaign. The campaign is designed to help patrons pay off their overdue fines and to support the Leduc & District Food Bank.

For each item of non-perishable food brought in, we’ll take up to $1 per item from your overdue fees.

Food donations only apply to overdue fees. They can’t be used for lost or damaged charges.

Food donations can’t be used to create a credit on a library card. For example, if you have $10 in overdue fines, you cannot bring in 20 food items, have your $10 fine eliminated and a $10 credit placed on your card for future fines.

Please bring food items to the Information Desk to have your fees waived.

FAQS

How long does Food for Fines run?
Sunday, February 3 to Saturday 9.

Why are we doing this?
To support the Leduc & District Food Bank.

What kinds of donations can people bring in?
Because they’re being collected over the space of a week, food donations should be non-perishable. Some toiletries and some staples are also accepted. See the Leduc & District Food Bank website for the items that the Food Bank is most in need of.

Thank you for your help in this campaign!
