Black History Reading Challenge
January 5 - March 31
Please find below titles of books to showcase Black History Month. This list spans a variety of experiences and stories from Black authors, from fiction to nonfiction, science fiction, mysteries, poetry and even horror stories.
This list is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to literature that could be featured and discussed. Honoring Black authors and experiences comes at a particularly important time in our country. We encourage you to read these books and help create a more just and equitable society where Black experiences are valued, appreciated, and celebrated.
Many of these titles can be found at Leduc Public Library. Many are available as eBooks and eAudio, and all of them may be reserved through TRAC library. If you have questions, ask staff at Information Services Desk.
Starting January 5 through to March 31, we invite you to take part in our Black History Reading Challenge. Read books from the list provided, or other novels highlighting Black experiences and authors. For each book completed submit your ballot at the library for a chance to WIN two $25.00 gift cards. Please note, winners will be contacted after the end date of March 31.
